Medium Voltage (MV) Upgrade Works at Institute of Technology Carlow

Tender description

The MV Upgrade works will comprise the removal and disposal of the existing switchgear in the existing switchroom on the Institute of Technology Carlow campus as described in the Works Requirements documentation to be replaced by new and complete Medium Voltage Network, including Medium Voltage Switchgear, Cables and all Ancillary Equipment to the full extent identified on the accompanying drawings and Specification. The Contractor will be responsible for the supply, delivery, erection, connection and commissioning of this Medium Voltage installation complete. The Contractor shall also be responsible for the appointment of an HV specialist to manufacture Off-Site, Test, Supply, Deliver, Install and Witness Test and Commission of the MV Switchgear Installation. The Electrical Contractor will procure a site wide grading study to provide maximum settings and maintain discrimination for all breakers. The scope of this study, and its recommended settings will be presented in the form of a report with graphical representation of the settings and grading margins. This report is to be free issued by the contractor prior to the project commencing work on site.
