Limerick City & County Council, Active Travel (the “Contracting Authority”) wishes to procure Civil Engineering services for various types of active travel schemes within Limerick City and County. It has been decided that the best way of fulfilling the Contracting Authority requirements is through a Framework Agreement. Lot 1: Limerick City & County Council, Active Travel (the “Contracting Authority”) wishes to procure Civil Engineering services for various types of active travel schemes within Limerick City and County. It has been decided that the best way of fulfilling the Contracting Authority requirements is through a Framework Agreement. An open procurement procedure will be used to appoint a number of tenderers to the Framework Agreement ensuring the availability of a variety of suitably qualified Contractors, capable of executing and completing the projects of varying sizes and degrees of complexity. The works to be executed and completed by the Contractor(s) are the provision of Civil Engineering services for the Active Travel Unity of Limerick City and County Council and over a 48 month period or such time as may be determined by the Contracting Authority in accordance with the provisions of the Framework Agreement, commencing on the date of award of the Framework Agreement. Ancillary works may encompass any related works or services required by the employer, particularly where the competence to deploy and operate on a live road is a requirement. The proposed works shall consist of multiple contracts for the provision of Active Travel projects. Task Orders will typically vary in scale i.e. minor civil engineering works such as the installation of new footpaths, cycle tracks, bus lanes, pedestrian crossings, road re-surfacing, drainage, ducting works, public lighting installations to street furniture and also small scale projects such as pop-up infrastructure.
