Fáilte Ireland is seeking tenders for the provision in digitised form of aggregate anonymised mobile phone data for the purpose of producing Overseas Tourism Statistics. The proposed solution must utilise aggregate anonymised mobile phone data in a way that will not intrude on people’s time or, most importantly, their privacy. The purpose of the project is to assess the potential of mobile network operator data to complement the collection of official statistics on inbound tourism (foreign visitors to Ireland) and outbound tourism (Irish residents travelling abroad).
