Tender description

Through its debt recovery policy the Housing Executive will seek to recover any outstanding debt through a number of avenues open to it but mostly through voluntarily means and in agreement with its tenants. However, when all alternative avenues of recovery have failed then the Housing Executive is required to seek recovery of its property. When this happens the Housing Executive must retain solicitors to instigate legal proceedings to obtain an order for possession. In this procurement, the Housing Executive seeks to procure a single firm of solicitors primarily to conduct legal proceedings on its behalf, throughout Northern Ireland, in respect of possession proceedings grounded on rent arrears and to provide any associated legal advice. The scope of the contract will also include a small amount of debt recovery work which does not relate to tenant rent arrears.
