Tender description

We wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to undertake 2252m (2.25km) of new fencing and 77m of repairs to existing fences in the northern area of Gelligaer & Merthyr Common. The new fencing will allow the creation of a double fenced area for the planting of a native deciduous hedgerow (planting is not included in this tender). Works are subject to a Section 38 application, Commons Act 2006 which has been submitted to Welsh Government (WG) for approval and subject to this tender process being approved by Rural Payments Wales. A decision regarding this application is expected early February 2023. If consent is given by WG, the successful contractor from this tender process will need to complete works by mid-March 2023 to allow time for the planting of the new hedgerows.
