The Board of Directors of the MAC Trading Co. Limited (“the MAC”) invites tenders for the provision of Catering, Bars and Café services at the MAC (Metropolitan Arts Centre), St Anne’s Square, Belfast. The MAC opened in April 2012 in the heart of Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter and is a powerhouse for social change through the creation and enjoyment of great art. In the 31 months since opening, the MAC has been visited over 700,000 times by locals and tourists alike. The MAC is artistically led and commercially driven with clear focus on the particular challenges which are associated with its start-up phase. It is critical now more than ever, in light of the difficult economic climate in which the entire arts sector finds itself, that the MAC’s work in support of Northern Ireland’s artists and their audiences continues. The MAC is seeking to appoint an innovative and creative Catering Partner who will share our values and maximise catering revenue by providing an outstanding catering experience via a skilled and engaged team. We want to work with a Catering Partner who is open to ideas, to collaboration, to challenges and to new ways of thinking. We are also seeking to appoint a catering partner who will: • Enhance the MAC’s reputation by contributing to the overall customer experience; • Demonstrate the ability to increase the MAC’s income from catering which is an assumption underpinning the MAC Business Plan; • Be experienced at handling the TUPE of existing staff, if required.
