Tender description

NHS Specialist Orthodontics Tender Reference Number: RPS 32 NHS North of Tyne and NHS South of Tyne & Wear proposes to commission NHS Specialist Orthodontic Services across the following PCT locations; • Newcastle PCT • North Tyneside PCT • Gateshead PCT • South Tyneside PCT • Sunderland Teaching PCT Bidders are restricted to tendering to a maximum of two contracts within a Primary Care Organisation (PCO). For the avoidance of doubt the PCO organisations and respective contracts are outlined within Document 4 – Evaluation Information & Criteria. Contracts are offered with a five year term with the option to extend for a further two years on an annual basis. The three key aims for service provision are: • To commission additional specialist services so that there is equity in access in terms of waiting times • To commission additional specialist services so that there is improved patient choice and therefore access through the development of more specialist providers; • To commission additional specialist services to deliver increased provision of services across the North East.
