NDBC Tender for the Construction of a Christian Heritage Exhibition

Tender description

North Down Museum currently houses a Christian Heritage exhibition which it wishes to redevelop and upgrade. The new exhibition will include interactive displays and cases which tell the fascinating story of Bangor’s importance with regards to the spread of Christianity throughout Europe. The exhibition will include an interactive area which will include a model of Bangor Abbey c.690AD and costume area. In the outdoor exhibition area there will be three small panels describing both the layout of Bangor monastery and the herbs the monks would have used. The main exhibition will have a total of 10 sections which tell the Christian heritage story. Within these panels will be a number of small insets to hold objects, as well as two larger display cases to hold an altar cross and an 11th C stone coffin lid. A restored stained glass window will also be incorporated as a self-contained unit within the display. In addition there will be three standalone cases to interpret and display the objects from the collection.
