MF0237 - Designing an alternative approach to monitoring scallop exploitation To identify the most effective monitoring approach design for King Scallops in English Waters, including shared stocks that partly occupy these waters, with the aim of answering key policy questions: • Where are the English King scallop stocks located? • What is the Maximum Sustainable Yield level for English King scallop stocks? • Are the English King Scallop stocks being fished at levels associated with Maximum Sustainable Yield? • What are the stock health/sustainability implications of the current exploitation rate? What are the appropriate reference points and limits that should be taken into consideration when developing/ taking forward management decisions to ensure the sustainability of English King Scallop stocks?
