Enterprise Train Phase 3. Train Carriage Seat Refurbishment and Upgrade

The following is provided in good faith and is intended only as a preliminary background explanation to the Translink Group's requirement it does not purport to be all inclusive. Cross border Enterprise trains which operate Belfast to Dublin comprise of 4 train-sets, the normal configuration of which is:- 1 Class 201 GM diesel locomotive 1 MK 3 Generator Van 4 Class 9000, De-Dietrich carriages, standard class. 1 Class 9000, De-Dietrich carriage, Catering car 1 Class 9000, De-Dietrich Carriage, 1st Plus 1 Class 9000, De-Dietrich Carriage, DVT including 1st plus compartment The seats were manufactured by Compin and installed at original carriage manufacture by De-Dietrich. There are 316 First Class seats and 1124 standard class seats. The scope of the tender is for the supply of; 1st Class Seats New foams for cushion and squab to customer design New hand holds to customer design New trimmed covers for seats and armrests Blanking plats for armrest electrical socket replacement Option to prepare and re-paint or powder coat seat shell and legs and fit hand holds. Also any modifications required to secure new single seat cushions. There is a further option for the refurbishment of 64 seats which may be fitted to the catering cars. Note: the concept is that the supplier will provide a kit of parts in Belfast to be assembled / installed by NIR or its sub contractor. The kit as per option may include the re-furbished seat shells. The supplier will also be responsible for carriage of all materials within scope to Belfast and to provide warranty support.
