Tender description

A Social Welfare Summer School has taken place annually since 2000, and is usually held at Queen’s University Belfast, and in recent years, at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth (alternate years). The Department for Social Development (DSD) in Northern Ireland and the Department of Social Protection (DSP) in the Republic of Ireland have jointly run the event, with each taking the lead within their jurisdiction. Formal evaluation of previous Summer Schools indicates that the event has been highly successful. Consequently, the Department for Social Development and the Department of Social Protection wish to continue with this development opportunity and intend to continue to rotate it between academic institutions in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. As a result, the Departments wish to appoint a provider of Academic Services to deliver on the academic content and design of the Social Welfare Summer School.
