Tender description

Central Procurement Directorate, Supplies and Services Division on behalf of its client the Department for Regional Development (DRD), Roads Service, invites tenders for the following contract: - Supply and Delivery of Ground Rock Salt for winter maintenance. The specification deals with the supply of salt for spreading on highways for de-icing carriageways and footways. The salt shall be suitable for the purpose stated above and shall remain friable when stock-piled (friable is defined as easily crumbled between the fingers of the hand and restored to the original grading). The salt shall be treated with anti-caking additive as required, so as to maintain the salt in suitable condition for at least 18 months in an open stock-pile, any non-friable crust which forms shall not exceed 75 mm thickness.
