Tender description
The principle purpose of these contracts are to help young people overcome barriers and develop the personal and employment skills that will support them in moving into, or sustaining, education, employment or training outcomes. This will offer a different and bespoke option for young people Post 16. It will be a stepping stone programme that will provide an alternative range of ongoing transition routes into education, employment or training as and when the young person is ready. The programme will build on the ethos of collaborative partnership delivery that enables bespoke solutions to each young person, building on their strengths and putting them firmly at the centre of their future. The provision provided will be at different education levels to reflect the varied profiles of our NEET young people. ARK will reserve and provide the opportunity for 4 Young People to attend for one day per week, on a rolling basis. This support will be to empower them to attend regular sessions at ARK, socially connect with others, engage in a variety of differing activities such as horticulture, animals, nature, cooking and rural arts and crafts. This will then build confidence, self-esteem and the motivation to move on to something else, but in their own time. The above will be with a view to working towards developing the personal and employment skills that will support them in moving into, or sustaining, education, employment or training outcomes. With particular focus on soft skills such as confidence, eye contact, working in a team/group, time keeping etc.. ARK will provide a safe and engaging environment, to enable each Young Person to slow things down, connect with themselves and then connect with others. This will be achieved by providing a person-centred approach, which includes choice, pace and no expectation placed on the Young Person. By socially engaging with others, undertaking activities they the Young Person wishes to do, will enable them to take control and boost confidence and self-esteem. Each Young Person will be provided with a variety of differing things to engage with and will be supported as needed to undertake these. Each Young Person will be supported by the staff and volunteers at ARK, using various aspects of the outdoor space as well as materials and resources required for any given activity. Cost to provide the capacity for up to four Young People once a week for 50 weeks of the year is £200 per week and totals £10k.
