Infrastructure Build Services in Leicestershire (Project GigaHubs)

Tender description

Leicestershire County Council (LCC) procured Gigabit Capable Infrastructure to a number of sites across the county, enabling each site to then procure appropriate, future-proofed Gigabit Capable Connectivity Services from a range of suitable resellers at the end of their current contract arrangements.\r Leicestershire County Council are collaborating with DCMS on this project to meet the Government ambition of delivering Gigabit capabilities across the UK by 2030. DCMS are providing approx. £1.7 of capital funding to the Council via a Grant Funding Agreement as part of their national GigaHubs programme to provide Gigabit-capable infrastructure to the agreed sites.\r The vision for digital connectivity in Leicestershire is to be a fully digital county by 2030 and to deliver lightning-fast, reliable gigabit-capable broadband to everyone, being the first county to deliver as close to 100% connectivity coverage as viably possible which will support economic growth, develop and maintain existing businesses as well as attracting new and provide a digital skills base to support the whole of the Leicestershire economy to prosper and thrive.\r \r This contract was awarded following a further competition under Crown Commercial Services RM6095 Gigabit Capable Connectivity DPS, Service Type: Infrastructure Build Services.\r \r The award value given at 6. Award Information does not include optional sites. Together with optional sites, the total value of the award would be approx. £1.7mln. Optional sites may be added to this contract at Council's sole discretion and subject to funding. \r \r
