Donegal Bundle 1 Flood Relief Schemes - Ground Investigation Contract No. 1

Ground Investigation works at 3no. proposed Flood Relief Scheme (FRS) locations- Burnfoot, Castlefinn and Downings Co. Donegal. The works under this contract will be mainly intrusive investigation works for geotechnical purposes to aid the design of a FRS. Data requirements at the end of the site investigation contract include: • Provide data on each geological unit (superficial and bedrock) to allow geotechnical parameters to be determined for outline design, including use of in situ and laboratory geotechnical testing; • Provide bedrock levels throughout the scheme to develop an understanding of the varying bedrock profile (where appropriate); • Monitor groundwater levels to allow an assessment of the groundwater regime in both the superficial and solid strata; • Conduct the intrusive works in accordance with best practice to prevent potential impact on environmental and ecological receptors.
