Summary of the work The specialist will be an experienced digital project manager capable of working in a matrix environment to understand user needs, and work collaboratively to design clear and concise delivery plans. They will lead small groups of specialists drawn from the team in support of this aim Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 16 months with an optional extension period of up to 4 months Latest start date Monday 14 November 2022 Maximum Day Rate Up to £600 (ex VAT) per day. Standard 8 hour working day, includes expenses to base location agreed with DWP . This role is Inside IR35 Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will work with stakeholders across Technology Services including Product Owners and Delivery teams. Within the team they will work with Digital Engagement Managers, Content Designers and Delivery Managers. Our Digital Project Manager will manage the end-to-end delivery of programmes or projects with medium risk or those which have major business impact. They will work with a wide stakeholder environment, set the pace for delivery and work with internal teams or external suppliers to deliver projects and programmes successfully. They will influence standards for project management practices and act as mentors where necessary. What Specialists Work On The specialist will work in with Digital Engagement (comms) Managers, Product Owners and content designers to understand the technology being delivered as well as the impact it they may have upon our colleagues and subsequently own and be accountable for the project plans that underpin the delivery of a digital product. The specialist will work with the teams to develop and communicate delivery plans with affected stakeholders. They will own the milestones and risks within the plan(s) and support the overarching delivery of the new service / product. Skills & Experience • Proven experience in managing a Digital Delivery Project • Ability to plan sprints, undertake Milestone Planning and Risk Management • Remove blockers from sprints ensuring delivery is completed to expected standards and delivered within timescales • Ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders communicating effectively Nice to Haves • Knowledge of delivery of enterprise-wide Microsoft products and End User Computing • Demonstrate experience of working in a large scale organisation and/or Government or Public Sector Work Location Primarily at the DWP Digital Corporate Hub at 2 St Peters Square, Manchester or Peel Park Blackpool. There may be occasional need to travel to other DWP hubs (e.g. Newcastle / Leeds / Sheffield) for workshops / user engagement Working Arrangments Specialist will work 5 working days per week . Attendance on site will be 40% of the specialist's time in accordance with DWP's Hybrid working policy. The remainder of the specialist's time will be working remotely .
