MedLIS National Laboratory System Remote Hosting

Tender description

The major cyber-attack upon HSE IT systems (and services) on 14th May 2021 severely impacted the infrastructure upon which the National Medical Laboratory Information System resides. Despite a successful recovery the attack has left the platform with an unacceptable level of instability. This notice is to cover the move to a remote hosted solution with the vendor. The transfer to a remote hosting model will restore the platform to the required level of stability. Furthermore, an upgrade to the latest version of code provides a path for MedLIS deployment in a highly secure and stable environment and delivers a robust solution to mitigate the risks in many Acute settings of aging Laboratory Information System (LIS) platforms. Lot 1: The HSE intends to extend the current contract in place with Cerner Ireland Limited, for a period of 7 years commencing February 2022. This would extend the award to February 2029. The original contract is in place until September 2022 and has an option to extend for 4 years to September 2026. The agreement with Cerner would take the form of a Contract Change Notice (CCN). New remote hosting arrangements and specific details on testing cycles required to deploy the MedLIS solution will also be documented in the CCN This CCN with Cerner will detail the deployment plan of the MedLIS solution to sites up to a limit of 2,500 concurrent users and will include an upgrade to the latest code.
