Tender description

Bridgend County Borough Council on behalf of the CSP wish to procure a Taxi Marshal service to provide oversight and support to members of the public outside Bridgend night-time economy hot spot locations. They will be deployed on demand dates and work closely with the local policing team. Visible stewardship in the night time economy reassures both taxi drivers, the community and brings about a positive deterrent effect on criminal conduct. Nationally, there has been a reduction in taxi driver provision and Bridgend Town has also suffered these legacy COVID effects. Licensees and police have observed late night drinkers struggling to secure taxi provision. We believe the absence of taxis fuels violence. We want Marshals with excellent communication skills, who are efficient at de-escalation whilst reassuring and supporting taxi drivers.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
