Replacement of existing primary & secondary steel LTHW heating pipework system located within the existing plantrooms, service corridors and service risers with new steel alternative This project is to renew both the primary flow and return (F&R) main LTHW infrastructure pipework system within Inverclyde Royal Hospital while maintaining the day to day working routine with minimum service disruption thus providing increased system resilience to future system downtime due to pipework leaks or unexpected failures previously experienced. It should be noted that system downtime must be only occur with the express permission of NHSGG&C and at pre-arranged timescales during the contract works that have been scheduled and agreed in advance. Where lengthy downtime is expected or cannot be avoided the Contractor shall allow for the provision of suitable temporary plant including taking into account the logistics of same. In order to fully understand the site complexities, the Contractor shall visit site and make himself aware of any and all constraints and make allowance for this within his tender return. No additional costs will be accepted should the Contractor fail to comply with the above. The design process will be a collaborative approach to ensure the highest technical standards are reached and the project realises its full potential. Proposal The Contractor is asked to design (where required within the specification), supply, install, administer, clean & flush, test, commission and set to work the completed installation to the full satisfaction of NHSGG&C's representative. The new pipework should be run adjacent to the existing pipework where possible while the existing installation remains live and fully operational, and only require shutdowns for final connections/switchover. The Contractors installation shall be required to take account of any phasing/bypass works to facilitate the swift switchover and final connection. The works areas are generally detailed within this specification, drawings & pricing schedule; IRH LTHW pipework replacement project works consist of the following: 1. Replace the existing primary & secondary steel LTHW heating pipework system with new steel alternative. 2. Provide all required supports both primary, and secondary steelwork. 3. Provide all required manufacturers proprietary anchors and expansion devices as required to control system expansion and contraction. 4. Insulate all new primary and secondary pipework/supports to ensure full thermal and vapour seal. 5. Replace/relocate/transfer the existing Automatic Controls/BMS System components currently installed within/on existing pipework to new adjacent locations prepared on the new pipework infrastructure prior to flushing, cleaning, testing and commissioning and setting to work the completed new LTHW system. 6. Temporary relocation and then re-instatement of any impacted local services maintaining daily operation. 7. Stripping out and removing from site all redundant LTHW services.
