Airwave Penetration Testing

Tender description

The Airwave network has for many years formed part of the UK critical national infrastructure, used by 43 police forces in England, Scotland and Wales, along with other critical services, Fire & Ambulance. The current Airwave solution comprises many legacy hardware & software components which will no longer be supported by the manufacturer beyond end 2022. Examples: • Windows Server 2008 R2 • Windows 7 • Motorola Centracom Hardware components The home office approved replacement service “Emergency Services Network” (ESN) will not be brought into service for a considerable period of time which has led the manufacturer, Motorola to introduce an interim solution called “Dispatch Communication Server” (DCS) as an immediate replacement for the existing Airwave solution. As Airwave is a critical national infrastructure, NWP is required to perform an IT Health Check, demonstrate compliance, and gain accreditation from PDS / Home office for the existing service, before we can proceed with the work of integrating the new DCS service. In short, NWP require 2 sequential IT Health checks • Firstly, the existing Airwave service • Secondly, the upgraded and newly integrated Airwave DCS service These must run in sequence; each report will require corrective actions which must be completed in a timely manner before submission to the accreditor and eventual service go live.
