PAISLEY ARTS CENTRE – REFURBISHMENT: MAIN WORKS

Tender description

The procedure being utilised for this procurement is a Competitive procedure with negotiation. Recourse to staged procedure to gradually reduce the number of solutions to be discussed or tenders to be negotiated. The contracting authority reserves the right to award the contract on the basis of the initial tenders without conducting negotiations. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016. The refurbishment of the Paisley Arts Centre forms part of the wider cultural infrastructure programme in Paisley, which consists of a 100m (GBP) investment to transform Paisley's town centre venues and outdoor spaces over the next few years. The Paisley Arts Centre – Refurbishment Works project seeks to alter and extend the existing building, which is a B listed venue located within a conservation area located in a former Church in central Paisley, to form a modern accessible multiuse arts theatre venue with improved public visibility offering enhanced user experience and better site utilisation. It also includes works to the external area to the front of the building forming a new open public space events area. Furthermore, it seeks to complete internal works include a new Front of House area (bar and box office), reconfiguration of the floor plan, new small kitchen preparation area, and technical theatre fitout including a tension wire grid, seating and bank with audio and lighting systems. This includes a full-services strip out and replacement of M&E systems throughout. The form of contract for the works is SBCC Standard Building Contract with Quantities for use in Scotland, SBC/Q/Scot 2011 Edition as supplemented and amended by the Council specific “Employer's Amendments”
