NHSGJ0094/22 Provision of Managed Service for NHS Golden Jubilee Orthopaedic Theatres

NHS Golden Jubilee invite notifications of interest from suppliers in relation to a proposed future contracting opportunity for an Orthopaedics Theatres Managed Service. This will include five existing Theatres, plus five new Theatres within our Hospital expansion, which is scheduled to open June 2023. It is expected that Tender documents will be published via Public Contracts Scotland circa September 2022. Suppliers must consider the criticality of the scheduled opening of the Hospital expansion in their decision to submit notification of interest. The service will include but not be limited to; Provision of equipment for major and minor configurations, including but not limited to; handpieces, saws, surgical helmets, arthroscopes, equipment/patient transportation trolleys. The requirement for the inclusion of surgical architectural and infrastructure systems within this contract has yet to be confirmed, but should be taken into consideration for the criticality of the scheduled opening of the Hospital expansion. Maintaining, repairing and servicing all equipment in full operational condition. Training of theatre staff and consultants. Procedure support, which will be a requirement of the service for Surgical Hospital Services and Surgical Specialist Services. All equipment must be CE/UKCA Marked. Bidders must agree that performance related measures will be put in place to ensure that the Managed Service Contract (MSC) delivers solutions that minimises the amount of time an orthopaedic patient is required to stay in hospital, seeking to achieve organisational target reductions for hospital stay. The MSC will utilise efficient clinical pathways, standardised techniques, with no clinical compromise, to allow the NHS Golden Jubilee Board to achieve the highest patient satisfaction scores available. Suppliers must consider the criticality of the scheduled opening of the Hospital expansion in their decision to submit notification of interest.
