Tender description

The work site consists of three distinct areas making up a 73ha area of c.70 year old Scots pine plantation, one area has not been thinned or racked, the other two areas have been thinned previously with one area having been thinned and ‘restructured’ more recently. The site is mostly racked, but the southern block remains unracked and unthinned. The work site includes; c.10.5ha of previously thinned and ‘restructured’ plantation that has significant amounts of created standing deadwood; 4ha of proposed clearfell in 0.5ha blocks, and; 58ha more of proposed thinning in more dense plantation. Our preferred contract route is to use a ‘felling and timber sale agreement’ to form the contract for the work. This will confirm the specification in detail and confirm the price per tonne of timber to be paid to the RSPB.
