Tender description

Scottish Canals requires 3 works packages to be carried out. They have been split into 3 different lots Civils Inspections, Earthworks Inspections and M&E inspections. Lot 1: Scottish Canals - Asset Inspections Lot 1 (Civils) The objective of the contract is to undertake engineering Principal Inspections on locks, bridges, sluices, control cabins, and The Falkirk Wheel, and report on their condition and operational serviceability. The structures will have civil and mechanical components. The mechanical components require a full M&E inspection of the components and their performance. The Principal Inspections will occur on the Lowland Canals (Union and the Forth & Clyde). The Principal Inspection report will include; a condition grade, consequence of failure, serviceability score, operational serviceability rating and associated defects. Part of the inspection and reporting requirement will be to permit Scottish Canals Asset Engineers/M&E Engineers to shadow on an agreed selection of these inspections and to report the findings. Lot 2: Scottish Canals - Asset Inspections Lot 2 (Earthworks) The objective of the contract is to undertake engineering Principal Inspections on embankments and cuttings and report on their condition. The Principal Inspections will occur on the Lowland Canals (Union, Forth & Clyde, and Monkland), Crinan Canal, and Caledonian Canal. The Principal Inspection report will include: a condition grade, consequence of failure, serviceability and associated defects. Part of the inspection and reporting requirement will be for up to three Scottish Canals Engineers to shadow an agreed selection of structures. Lot 3: Scottish Canals - Asset Inspections Lot 3 (M&E) The objective of the contract is to undertake engineering Principal Inspections on locks, bridges, sluices, control cabins, and The Falkirk Wheel, and report on their condition and operational serviceability.
