Tender description

A requirement exists for the charter of a licensed vessel with an appropriately qualified skipper and crew for a maximum of 2 days to conduct habitat enhancement works on native oyster beds by distributing shell cultch on the oyster beds in Lough Foyle. The oyster beds are situated in shallow areas of a tidal estuary with multiple dry out sandbanks and as such safe access requires detailed planning and knowledge. Chart datum is from 0.6m – 11m for the majority of the oyster bed that the shell will be distributed on. Tenders are invited on the basis of their ability to undertake the planned work as outlined in the specifications. This comprises of transporting the shell from Lisahally to the predetermined oyster beds where it will be distributed over a set area. The work will be carried out over 10 hour days. Detailed information of the track and work plan will be provided by Loughs Agency. The successful applicant will be selected based on technical suitability and cost of charter.
