The AONB & Geopark team of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council require a supplier to assist in the delivery of an AONB Youth Ranger Programme. The AONB Youth Ranger Programme aims to recruit and support conservation volunteers in the Ring of Gullion and Strangford and Lecale AONBs, with a particular emphasis on establishing local scale sustainable positive environmental management in the youth of the two AONBs. The aims of the Youth Ranger programme are to: • Engage with young people in the areas, inspiring them to learn and care about their local environments. • Provide the young people with the skills necessary to safely explore the rural/coastal landscapes. • Provide the young people with practical conservation skills and experiences. • Provide the young people with a holistic understanding of the areas, including the principles of 'leave no trace' and WiSe.
