Tender description

The Ireland Wales STREAM operation is a collaboration between South East Technological Unversity, Munster Technological University and Swansea University. The aim of the project is to develop sensing solutions to monitor the impact of climate change on coastal regions of the Ireland Wales cross border region. Strongly focused on the South and South East coast of Ireland and the South West coast of Wales, the project will develop sensors for deployment and remote communication to a central ‘Information Portal’ for dissemination to Coastal Communities and interregional stakeholders. To further support this initiative are a series of workshops and summer schools that a designed to inform the public on the potential impacts of climate change on the cross border region. The project incorporates land based weather stations and marine deployed water sensors to continuously monitor for the impact of climate change on the near shore marine productivity. To achieve this aim, STREAM will design, develop and deploy printed sensors, optical sensors and ICT communication systems.
