Residential Passive Fire Safety Works

Queen Margaret University is seeking bids for upgrading passive fire safety works to three floors of a student accommodation block. This involves the taking down and replacement of the existing ceilings and the carrying out of specialist fire stopping works within the void areas above, along with other ancillary works. This construction project comprises the alteration and upgrading of existing fire stopping works and associated builder-works within three floors of a student residence block at Queen Margaret University campus. The scope of the work includes the careful opening up of the internal building fabric, including wall, and ceiling finishes, to expose the existing fire stopping and M&E service ways including ventilation, electrical, heating and plumbing routes that penetrate compartment and fire separating walls and replace finishes and make good decoration. This may include temporary isolation of services to carry out the works safely.
