NSU 2 way radio

Tender description

The Neighbourhood Support Unit (NSU) sits within the Housing Service as part of Swansea Council. The service is based at Townhill Area Housing Office and operates 24/7 dealing with anti-social behaviour and empty council property security in, on and around our council housing estates. Apart from the office based Supervisor this service is provided by a team of NSU officers who are mobile and who undertake targeted patrols, and respond to incidents of anti-social behaviour throughout our council estates or attending alarm activations in empty council properties. The Supervisor will maintain contact with all NSU staff operating as mobile units via our existing 2-way radio system. Currently we operate with a base station at the NSU base for the use of the Supervisor, each NSU long term hire vehicle will have a vehicle mounted 2-way radio unit (i.e. 5 in total), and we have 12 handheld 2 ways radios that are issued to each member of staff operating away from the NSU base. The handheld radios are battery operated and fully rechargeable via docking stations in the NSU control room.
