Suicide Bereavement Counselling

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough STP have been awarded funding to expand its existing offer of suicide postvention bereavement support. Currently, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG and the Local Authority fund a suicide bereavement service, providing those who have been bereaved by suicide within the previous year with emotional and practical support. As part of the funding proposal, the STP has identified the need to provide suicide bereavement counselling to those who have lost a loved one to suicide, both recently and longer term. We are seeking to procure a bereavement counselling service that will lead in the organisation, administration and delivery of the suicide bereavement counselling service. This service will need to identify suitable counsellors, provide training to them in suicide bereavement support, and deliver counselling. This service will also need to liaise with the existing suicide bereavement support service to ensure that referrals are accepted in a timely manner.\r
