Tender description

The School of Natural Science at Trinity have conducted market research with four specialist vendors and considering proceeding to contract for reassembly/refurbishment of a second-hand glasshouse. The fixed budget is €76,300 Ex VAT for the repairs/upgrades. The works are urgently needed to support a research programme addressing highly sensitive plant collections in preparation for our first ERC experiment (TERRAFORM project) on the effect of plant evolution of chemical weathering of the earth surface, and to house a major part of the living collections of Trinity Botanic Garden. The greenhouse is 6.4m wide, 25m long and has a post height of 3m. Surface area of 153.6sq m. This comprises 4 end panels 3,20 m wide with a 24,00 m side. The remaining 24.00 m side will be connected to an existing wall. 2 aluminium sliding doors 2,00 m. wide x 2,20 m. high with upper rollers, rails and draught brushes are required. An Aluminium sliding system roof for glass size 3 x 1,000 x 825 mm is required. Market research has confirmed the small size of the greenhouse reduces the supply base capable of delivering a solution within budget. Expressions of interest are requested from vendors who can supply a second hand glass house/refurbishment services within the stated €76,300 budget.
