Tender description

1. Scottish Ministers announced in June 2015 that they would take long-term action to reduce energy demand and decarbonise the heat supply in our residential, services and industrial sectors, designating energy efficiency as a National Infrastructure Priority. Following the declaration of a Climate Emergency, the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 was amended to set a statutory target to reach Net Zero by 2045 and 75% by 2030. The requisite commitment to decarbonising the heating of Scotland’s buildings is set out in the resulting Heat in Buildings Strategy (which is the successor to the Energy Efficient Scotland programme).
