Tender description

The mechanical services upgrade scope of the works includes the following: a) De-commission, isolate, drain down, remove and dispose of the redundant oil fired boiler the main boiler room and all associated header pipework and services including the oil storage tank and any remaining heating oil to a licenced waste recycling facility. b) De-commissioning, Isolation, drain down, removal and disposal of the redundant heating distribution system and associated services to a licenced waste facility. c) Convert the heating system fuel supply to LPG as the fuel source, construction of a new gas tank storage compound and connection of the new gas service to the boiler room. d) Supply and installation of a new gas fired cascade boilers system, flue system and gas safety systems e) Replacement of the heating centre pipe work, valves, actuators, pumps and controls etc with new services to suit the new boiler room layout f) Supply of a new packaged pressurisation unit and expansion vessel and associated controls g) New heating distribution pipework and radiator systems throughout the school h) Controls upgrade to provide new two port motorised valves and room thermostats to individual classrooms, circulation areas and offices to provide independent local control. i) New heating system control panel with BMS and all associated controls and provide a new user interface located in the principal’s office together with a simple boost facility control panel and remote access via smart phone app. j) Supply and install a new indirect calorifier and associated controls and pumps and reconnect to the existing distribution pipework system with secondary return to serve the school with hot water. k) All associated electrical works including isolations disconnections and strip out and new power and controls cabling run in galvanised steel containment systems to serve the new heating system l) All associated builders works including removal of the boiler and plinth, and clean out of
