Tender description

As part of Northern Gas Networks continued efforts to improve resilience to cyber security threats; there is a need to improve the current way in which NGN identifies, detects, responds, contains and remediates cyber security incidents and continuously improve our cyber security defenses. The time is now right for NGN to establish an outsourced managed SOC capability, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our security operations functions and capabilities, and proactively reduce the potential impact of cyber security events. Lot 1: As part of the Northern Gas Networks continued efforts to improve resilience to cyber security threats; there is a need to improve the current way in which NGN identifies, detects, responds, contains and remediates cyber security incidents and continuously improve our cyber security defenses. The time is now right for the NGN to establish an outsourced managed security operations centre (SOC) capability, to improve the efficiency (save costs) and effectiveness (improve security) of our security operations functions and capabilities, and proactively reduce the potential impact of cyber security events. This project is considered a foundational initiative, a key deliverable of NGN’s Cyber Resilience Strategy and is expected set the tone for delivery of cyber security services more broadly. The strategic vision for the SOC project is to partner with a world class vendor who can provide security operations and monitoring capabilities, proactively monitor the threat landscape, NGN’s critical assets and detect and instigate response to threats and incidents across both its Information Technology and Operational Technology environments.
