Wiltshire Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Information and Advice Support Service - Market Engagement Event

<p>In advance of the recommissioning of Wiltshire Council&rsquo;s Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities Information and Advice Support Service (SENDIASS) we will be holding a market provider consultation event to explore opportunities and challenges faced by providers of these services. This is an event specifically for current providers of SENDIASS or providers looking to provide these services. The service aims to: &bull; Provide children, young people and their parent and carers with impartial information, advice and support about matters relating to their special educational needs and/or disabilities including health and social care and how it impacts on their education and aspirations. &bull; Provide support in a range of ways which includes face to face, a telephone advice line, email, and stand-alone website and a developing social media site &bull; To provide informal advocacy support for individual children, young people, and parents/carers empowering them to express their views and wishes and exercise their rights in matters to including exclusion, complaints, special educational needs and disabilities processes, and appeals. &bull; To offer training to local education, health and social care professionals, children, young people and parents/carers to increase knowledge of applicable law, guidance, local policy, issues and participation and meet the required levels of training as stated in the minimum standards. The event will be held on the 19th May between 11 and 12:30pm The event will be held virtually on Microsoft teams and will include a short presentation regarding the services intended outcomes, the timescales for the tender process, and a discussion on opportunities and challenges which will include an opportunity to ask questions. Places at the event are limited to no more than 2 representatives per provider.
