Golf Caddie Training Programme

Failte Ireland want to work with a suitably qualified company to facilitate caddie programme workshops using a train-the-trainer format. These workshops will deliver best in class Caddie Master training for the golf tourism industry. The goal is to train large volumes of “Caddie Masters” who in turn can train the interested members of their community to become caddies in their local golf clubs. Golf tourism is extremely valuable to the Irish economy, generating €300 million euro in revenue and 1.9 million bed nights. That benefit can be felt right across the regions in terms of local employment and revenue generation. The world-class and mature golf product right across Ireland supports this regional spread. The introduction of a caddie programme will not only increase employment in some of the most rural towns and villages in Ireland, but it will drive incremental revenue to the local area.
