Tender description

The redevelopment of the MidlandsIreland.ie brand platform and website is a project funded by the Just Transition Fund, the Carbon Tax Fund, together with the support of the Local Authorities of Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath. The National Just Transition Fund (JTF) is a key pillar of the Government’s plan for the Midlands region. A fund has been made available to support communities transitioning to a low carbon economy. The focus is on retraining workers and generating sustainable employment in green enterprise across the region. The objective of the Fund is to facilitate innovative projects that contribute to the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the Midlands region and have significant employment and enterprise potential. The Fund supports projects that take a whole-of-Midlands strategic approach and complement other sources of public funding. The redevelopment of MidlandsIreland.ie is one such project – Ref MRTT:80 ‘Destination hubs’ have long been recognised as a key driver for economic and social development of regions. Destination platforms seek to communicate all that is good and positive about a region in one single platform, strengthening regional awareness and reputation on the national and international stage. The redevelopment of the MidlandsIreland.ie destination hub has also been reflected in the Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan to 2024. The current site and brand were developed some years ago, and the budget has now been secured to redevelop these as a destination hub to showcase the region. The goal of the project is to create a brand and destination hub which position the Midlands as a region that is modern and progressive. The project provides the region with the opportunity to redefine what we stand for, and to create a vision of the Midlands for the future as a place to live, work, visit and invest.
