Tender description

Tenders are invited under open procedure for the Supply, Delivery, & Installation of a Automated Multifunctional Volatile Extraction System for Gas Chromatography to Teagasc. Teagasc has a dedicated research flavour chemistry facility within the Department of Food Quality and Sensory Science at the Teagasc Food Research Centre, Moorepark, Fermoy, Co. Cork. This facility undertakes independent research, and collaborates with both National and International researchers as well as offering a technical service to Industry. This system is required to extract and concentrate volatile aromatic compounds from foods and beverages, so that they can be separated and identified by gas chromatography using appropriate detectors such as flame ionization, mass spectrometry and olfactometry. Teagasc works with a very diverse range of foods and beverages and thus require an automated multifunctional extraction system. The system must be able to fully integrate with an existing Agilent 7890A gas chromatograph and Agilent 5975C XL MSD operating with MassHunter Software. We require the following extraction modes; SPME, SPME ARROW, HEADSPACE and LIQUID Injection, THERMAL DESORPTION (tube based) and SORBTIVE EXTRACTION. The extraction processes should be fully automated (unattended operation) and have the capability of easily switching between different extractions modes and have prep ahead functionality. The system must contain automated diagnostics and feedback.
