NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde would like to contract with a supplier to provide an EPR Solution and associated services. The implementation of a specialised Dental EPR Solution will provide the Acute Service Team in the Glasgow Dental Hospital (and other sites where acute dental care treatment is delivered) with a specialised application enabling a complete move to electronic process/working in line with other services within GGC who are already operating in an EPR environment. There is a desire within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board to streamline the clinical record aspect at the point of care in the Acute Oral Health directorate by the implementation of a Dental EPR Solution which will fulfil the Dental EPR strategy. This will provide enhancements including: — dental charting; — improvement to patient safety; — improved clinical record keeping; — reduced clinical risk; — improve information security; — reduce storage costs for paper records; — ease of access on multiple locations. The implementation of a specialised Dental EPR Solution will provide the Acute Service Team in the Glasgow Dental Hospital (and other sites where acute dental care treatment is delivered) with a specialised application enabling a complete move to electronic process/working in line with other services within GGC who are already operating in an EPR environment. The proposed implementation will enhance the flow of information throughout Acute and Primary Care dental services, which will lead to improved patient care. As a result, the patient experience should also be improved throughout the entire treatment pathway.
