Making Homes from Houses - partner to deliver Reuse of Empty Homes in Preston

<p>The City Council is looking to identify and appoint a partner, as a registered provider/developer/contractor (or partnership of), to work with us to deliver the next phase of an established model , known as Making Homes from Houses, to use the affordable housing commuted sum contributions. The model will deliver the following objectives: &bull; The continuation of the effective and efficient delivery vehicle known as Making Homes from Houses for the refurbishment of empty homes that can be sustained in the long term through purchase by the registered provider; &bull; A targeted programme of capital works to refurbish empty properties in Preston and bring homes back into occupation; &bull; The provision of affordable housing in line with the Council&rsquo;s local plan objectives; &bull; Delivery of the Social Justice/Value objectives of the Council in terms of employment, training and supporting the local economy &bull; Work collaboratively with our Housing Advice Team to ensure the properties are allocated via the Select Move partnership to residents from Preston in the greatest housing need</p> Keywords: affordable house
