Tender description
Train trainee school counsellors to complete a diploma in counselling, and provide supervision, support and impact reporting for both trainee and qualified counsellors. Lot 1: The 2018-19 Programme for Government stated that around 350 new counsellor positions would be created in Scotland. Each local authority has been allocated funding to implement this. Aberdeenshire Council (the Council) has been unable to recruit enough qualified, accredited counsellors with appropriate experience of working with children and young people to meet this expectation. The Council will therefore recruit a combination of qualified School Counsellors and Trainee School Counsellors, the latter of which will be sponsored to undertake a diploma in counselling. The successful tenderer will be responsible for training and supervising trainee school counsellors (10) as well as supervising already qualified counsellors (2).
