Management of Ongar Business Centre

Tender description

This is a tender exercise for the management of Ongar Business Centre via a concessions contract. Essex County Council is dedicated to improving Essex and the lives of our residents. Our ambition is to deliver the best quality of life in Britain. We will achieve this by providing high-quality, targeted services that deliver real value for money. The Essex Organisation Strategy sets out our aims and priorities for the period 2017-21. It articulates how we will achieve better outcomes for Essex and secure the ambitions set out in the Vision for Essex. Our ambition, at the end of this period, is for Essex to be the best local authority in the country. Ongar Business Centre ('the Centre') is a 15,000 sq ft office building owned freehold by Essex County Council ('ECC', 'the Authority'). The Centre supports ECC's Organisation Strategy 2017-21, aiming to "enable Essex firms in high-growth sectors to consolidate and expand, by providing advice and increasing business space". The Centre is currently managed by a third party. In January 2020, the Centre was 94% occupied by floorspace / 92% occupied by units. The current agreement for management of the Centre is due to expire on 31 April 2021. ECC's Sustainable Growth Directorate is therefore issuing a tender to secure a new longer-term agreement with a service provider to manage the Centre on its behalf.
