1 x Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) based in Glasgow (home working during Covid crisis) Essential Skills & Knowledge: *** We require all our suppliers to strictly look into this skill set when they search and submit candidates for this position *** The Scottish Government are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with the following skillset and experiences; Skills and Experience we are looking for: • Experience running root cause analysis on large distributed system ensuring that failure is not repeated • Understanding of software and infrastructure architecture including performance tuning applications, infrastructure and databases; • Experience scaling system sustainably through automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability, velocity and cost efficiency. • Proficient in system monitoring, capacity planning, business continuity, system support and failure diagnosis; • Strong Amazon Web services knowledge minimum of 3 years hands on experience • Solid and demonstrable understanding of AWS well architected framework; • In-depth Infrastructure as Code experience for automation and configuration management (specifically Terraform, Ansible, packer and CloudWatch) • Evangelist for Continuous integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies reducing toil and ensuring maximum change velocity and deployment consistency • Excellent Linux/Unix system administration skills with a bias towards RedHat Enterprise Linux versions 7 and CentOS;
