Wheel Shop Floor Upgrade

Tender description

1.1. Irish Rail (IE) operate a Wheel Shop based in Inchicore Railway Works, Inchicore, Dublin 8. The objective of the project is the supply & installation of suitable industrial floor covering in the Wheel Shop at Inchicore. The existing floor is subjected to high frequency mechanical impact and pedestrian traffic, is showing signs of wear and tear and is in need of repair. The floor installation must be able to withstand the activity undertaken in the shop without compromising any aspect of its structure or slip resistance. The total area to be upgraded is 4445m2. IE are seeking expressions of interest from specialist companies to carry out major workshop renovation in the Wheel Shop area. The process will involve the removal of the existing floor and putting in place a fit for purpose Long Life Industrial Floor that will be suitable for the heavy duty maintenance needs of those workshops, and will incorporate the following steps; • Surface preparation including vacuum blasting/ diamond grinding • Primer Application • Final Coating • Impact interlock floor tiles to be fitted to specified areas • Line Markings
