Tender description

The works under this contract will be mainly intrusive investigation works for geotechnical purposes to aid the design of a FRS and to assist RPS in investigating the historic landfill. The site is situated in the western border town of Lifford. The site encompasses two main areas, the first of which is a stretch of the western bank of the River Foyle. Here, eight (8) boreholes will be located to aid geotechnical design for a proposed flood relief scheme (FRS). The second area of the site is located inland to the west, twenty two (22) trial pits will be excavated in this area. The portion of the site at the River Foyle, can be described as undeveloped Greenfield land. The location of the site inland where the trial pits will be located is a mixture of undeveloped and developed lands around residential properties/agricultural land. A potential historic landfill is located within the area known as ‘The Bog Lot 230205: Ground Investigation works for geotechnical purposes to aid the design of a Flood Relief Scheme by the Engineering Consultants, RPS.
