GMIT ITT Conversion Works Room 637 2021

GMIT wish to award a contract under the open procedure for works involving the conversion of room 637 from a training kitchen to a new computer & equipment-based laboratory. This project involves stripping out the services still remaining from its time as a kitchen and setting up for use as a purpose made lab for engineering lab delivery. There is an existing AHU providing ventilation to the space which will require adaptions to ductwork / grills to provide adequate ventilation for the new lab configuration. It should be noted that the Room where works take place is directly over the main canteen seating area. It is anticipated that some works will be required outside of normal hours to facilitate the removal / adaption of services that pop up through the floor into the room from the ceiling above the canteen seating. This will be a turnkey project which will be ready to move into upon completion. The main elements involved are as follows: • Electrical strip out • Mechanical Strip out • Adaptation of suspending ceilings for mechanical works & new ceiling tiles • Removal of side service voids and rendering of walls. • Electrical installation including new power, lighting, data. • Mechanical alterations. • Decoration. • Floor finishes. • Firestopping • Installation of furniture (benching, shelving, presses). • Relocation of existing furniture • Cleaning Please refer to ITT for further details. Due to the urgency of this works, the project must be completed and ready for use by the 11.01.2022. Contract was awarded on the 8th December 2021 to Conneally Group, Glenrock House, Glenrock Business Park, Ballybane, Galway. 4 Tenders were received in response to this competition.
