The Trust as a further development of its Data Centre facilities at Pilgrim Hospital is in the process of developing a new computer room to provide a fully resilient LAN and WAN. The computer room is critical to supporting the Pilgrim Hospital site to ensure full resilience as the Trust further develops it digital strategy, supported by best of breed enabling infrastructure. The ICT Department is using this opportunity to develop the room on the Pilgrim Hospital site to a modern fit for purpose standard taking advantage of the green field nature of the room that is being handed over to ICT by the building contractors. There is an expectation that the new solution will be fully self-contained, resilient, efficient and provide modern connected data centre functionality such as remote monitoring, real time information and alarms and alerts.
