Consultancy – Test & Learn (Adult Learning Service)

<p>Liverpool City Council&rsquo;s Adult Learning Service (the Service) delivers adult and community learning to over 6,000 learners per year. The Service contracts with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) to deliver its adult learning offer via the Adult Education Budget (AEB). The learning offer includes, English, maths, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), digital, a small number of vocational skills-based qualifications and a community learning (non-accredited) offer. The Service mission is: To deliver, secure and promote accessible, high quality, locally delivered adult learning opportunities for the people of Liverpool. Service Aims &bull; Maximise the employability of Liverpool residents through delivery of range of programmes that support people to progress into work &bull; Deliver learning and skills programmes that are responsive to local employer and residents&rsquo; needs &bull; Deliver provision that leads to social well-being and economic outcomes &bull; Deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment &bull; Inspire and promote ambition for all learners to succeed and progress &bull; Promote equality and diversity throughout all aspects of the learner journey Adult and Community Learning providers differ from other colleges/training providers in that: &bull; Learners are usually undertaking maths and English/ ESOL and vocational subjects as a stand-alone subject as part of a second chance to help them progress in life &bull; Learners may lack knowledge, information, confidence and aspiration to know what their next steps could be &bull; Providers may not have on site, immediate access to professional careers and IAG support. Where it is available, IAG can be delivered separately to the teaching and learning. The Service has secured funding to deliver a Test and Learn pilot project that supports contextualised employability teaching and learning in English / ESOL, maths and vocational subjects to accelerate progression into employment or further learning.</p> Keywords: consultancy, learning
