Professional Services for the Installation of Data Centre Switches ACI

Tender description

STH has committed to install a complete new replacement data network and integrate it with the existing network with the intention that it should replace the current network over time. The focus of this element of the programme is the replacement and enhancement of the existing Data Centre network including the introduction of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI). The required Bill-of-Materials (BoM) has been determined with Cisco and procurement of this equipment is already complete. There is no scope for a Proof of Concept or a Demonstration of ACI - the technology is seen as mature enough to warrant going straight to full implementation. The requirement is to assist STH to quickly implement ACI with a heavy focus on knowledge transfer and the development of processes to guide STH engineers through the technical steps required to migrate application services from the existing legacy Nexus DC environment. The new ACI DC network will connect to the rest of the STH network via an existing logical Shared Services Block and will be required to integrate with VMware Cloud Foundation including NSX-T within the DC environment.
