Expressions of Interest for an Industrial MDF Scanning Defects System at Medite Europe DAC.

Medite Europe DAC are seeking expressions of interest from suppliers / manufacturers that can offer a surface defect scanning and grading systems with a proven track record within the MDF panel industry. In order to determine the company’s suitability, we are asking potential suppliers to complete the suitability criteria as set out in section 2.1 in order to pass to the tender stage of this competition. Medite is a manufacturing facility that produces MDF Panels on a continuous press, these panels are then further processed through a sander, cut to size saws and packaging machine ready for shipment to customers. Due to the many process steps in the production of MDF panels, Defects can occur intermittently which effect the continuous and automated nature of the production line. Medite wishes to install a surface defect scanning and grading system downstream of the sander operation. The panels produced range in length from 3660mm to 6120mm/* The panels range in width from 2420mm to 2750 The panels range in thickness from 8mm to 40mm The panels range in density from 405 kg/m3 to 680 kg/m3 Panels exit the sander at speeds ranging from 198 mm/sec to 448 mm/sec Defect types that can occur – Rubber spots / pitting, Blowline residue, Resin spots, Scratch marks, Blisters & blows, Shadow marks, Fissures, Soft spots, Oil spots, Shives, Thin edge/thin board, Sand through surface, Burn marks, Water spots, Dry surface, Metal spots, Mat spray lines, High density spots, Tiger stripes.
